Birds Eye launches ‘social media-inspired’ potato shapes

Mr potato head black and white 2Today’s fatuous press release goes to Birds Eye that has launched Mashtags, an ‘innovative new product inspired by social media’.

Mashtags are apparently made from quality British potatoes and their shapes included the hashtag, @ symbols and those much-loved emoticons.

So, customers will literally be eating digital… and proving that we have come a long, long way from those ads featuring the Cadbury’s Smash aliens.

If you thought the product was bad enough, the press release goes on to talk about how Mashtags cater for audiences of all ages, including a social media savvy mum… of whom apparently 87% possess a smartphone.

These mash tags will cost £1.75 at all leading supermarkets, if you are that INSANE to want to buy one. Personally, I preferred eating alphabet fucking spaghetti.
