Remember Maradona, the coke and the vuvuzela?

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if he would be remembered for this picture, hoovering up a pile of cocaine with a vuvuzela, thus defining a corrupt man whose whole career was based on stupidity, vanity and some white powder that made him a better player than he ever really was.

The end of the rectangle is the shape of things to come

I am going to put my neck on the line. It might be the start of a revolution; then again, I might just be ridiculed for my crazy thinking and thrown in the Clive Sinclair school of C5 human wrongdoings.

Maybe it is my age that influences my absolute frustration and boredom with the rectangular device paradigm, which the human race has seemingly embraced for the long term. Continue reading

UK ecommerce startup Ometria pulls in $1.5 million seed funding

ometria_fundingE-commerce analytics company Ometria has raised $1.5 million in seed funding from a group of high-profile investors and entrepreneurs, including Huddle founders Alastair Mitchell and Andy McLoughlin.

Founded in London little more than 12 months ago, Ometria has staff in Moscow and operates a real-time platform targeted at online retailers that provides analytics for ecommerce businesses; it can be integrated with ecommerce platforms such as Magento and Shopify. Continue reading
